Maclock Timber Spikes are designed for use in timber where a permanent locking of the timber sections is required. The expanded locking head passes throught the timber compressing the fibres and quickly releasing them into the narrow neck of the spike. When fully driven into position the fibre gathered behind the expanded head forms a barrier impeding withdrawal locking the timber sections togother. |

It is difficult to find a fastener that will hold in the end grain of timber. Bolts are not practical, coach screws unwind, nails and deck spikes pull out or work loose. Maclock Timber Spikes hold firmly!!!
Maclock Timber Spikes effectively lock rails to the outside of posts. It is completely concealed. No protruding heads, threads or nuts. No sharp strapping. No loose nails.
And the cost of Maclock is most competitive when compared with galvanised bolts and nuts. A much longer bolt is required to do the same job.
